Advocacy / Women’s Rights / Mental Health / Connection with Nature

Art is a powerful tool of communication. I use my artwork as a tool to advocate for causes important to me through a broad range of mediums. So far, this has meant advocating for women’s rights and mental health awareness. In the future, I would like to advocate for the importance of connecting with nature.

My prints meld historical and current iconography to create forceful imagery with an updated message. They were created in a timely fashion to create expanded awareness of the current push for women’s rights. Only through awareness can action be triggered. Additionally, not only were my prints a rallying cry in response to current events, but they also provide historical documentation of a certain period of time.

Additionally, I have experimented with installations to raise awareness of mental health and recognize the positive impact a connection with nature has on mental health. While my installations differ aesthetically and contextually, they aim to help viewers realize they are not alone in their battle for mental health, help them feel comfortable reaching out to others, and/or give them refuge by bringing nature to them through art.
